Microserfin has signed a participation agreement with the Citi Microenterprise Development Awards (PREMIC) 2015, which recognize the importance of entrepreneurship in disadvantaged sectors as a tool for rising out of poverty
Microserfin works to develop financial products and services to provide low-income entrepreneurs with access to productive loans, and to support them with training and advice as they develop and grow their businesses, thereby guaranteeing a better quality of life for them and their families.
As evidence of their commitment to this mission, Luis Germán Linares Peña, general manager of Microserfin, has signed a participation agreement between the institution and the Citi Micro Enterprise Development Awards (PREMIC) 2015, which recognize the outstanding work being done by entrepreneurs through microenterprises, as an instrument for family development. According to Linares Peña: “It is an honor for us to continue our support for this event each year, as this initiative aims to reinforce entrepreneurship, as an effective tool for the eradication of poverty in Panama”.
Microserfin’s participation in PREMIC for the seventh year running further reinforces the institution’s commitment to working for a better future for underprivileged individuals by sowing the seeds of wealth at the base of the pyramid. The general manager highlighted that “There is less poverty among entrepreneurs, as microenterprises generate family income that wouldn’t be possible without entrepreneurship”.
