Banco ADOPEM recently launched its “Ruta del Agrocrédito ADOPEM” loans program in different communities in the south of the Dominican Republic to promote its products to small-scale producers.

The program, which includes an educational campaign targeted at prospective customers, offers the livestock, agriculture and fisheries sectors fast availability of funds coupled with payment terms tailored to their production cycles.

The loans are granted to small businesses such as grape sellers, producers of gandule beans, green beans and vegetables, grocers and plant sellers.

Campaigns were held over five days in November at the Bani, Azua, Neyba, San Juan and Barahona branch offices, and in alliance with the development agencies CODESPA and AECID the program aims to reach 12,000 people in the southern region.
