Banco ADOPEM takes part in Expo Cibao 2016: bringing education loans to students in the Dominican Republic

Banco ADOPEM has taken part in the 29th edition of Expo Cibao 2016, where it presented its products and services to the 2,000 visitors at this business fair, which brings together institutions from different sectors in the region of Cibao.

One of these products was its Education Loan, which increases access to financial services for the student population and allows them to enroll in, continue and complete their technical and higher studies.

Mercedes Canalda de Beras-Goico, executive president of Banco ADOPEM, said that initiatives like Expo Cibao are a chance for more Dominicans to find out about this loan, which contributes to the development of the country by promoting education.

At Expo Cibao, the institution showcased its remittances and life insurance programs, and particularly its offering of loans for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, which are tailored to its customers’ needs and offer very competitive rates. Participants at the fair also received advice for families about savings plans with savings books, regular savings plans and financial certificates. The bank also organized a children’s activity to promote a culture of saving in a simple and fun way with dancing, free gifts and prize draws.

ADOPEM currently has a credit portfolio in the whole of the northern region of 53,978 loans granted for a total amount of DR$ 1,218,250,250. The 21 branch offices in the area have 176 business officers, 21 business managers and three area supervisors to support the vulnerable entrepreneurs in
