EMPRENDE MICROFINANZAS, which is pioneer in the field of microfinance in Chile, grants financial services to self-employed workers, microbusinessmen and farmers. It gives them the opportunities and support they need.
Moreover, Emprende assists vulnerable entrepreneurs from several points of view. Although clients report an income level which is over the poverty levels in Chile, they have several characteristics that place them in an uncertainty and unsteady economic situation.
First of all, our clients have basic levels of education although they come from a country where literacy in the secondary level is quite widespread.
This is the reason why these entrepreneurs don't have the same opportunities when it comes to expand or direct their business to activities that require more technical knowledge. Furthermore, 18% of our clients work in the crop and livestock sector, which traditionally fights against a changeableness and isolation situation.
This is how Emprende Microfinanzas provides an efficient resource in order to mitigate vulnerable people and to help them reach an economic independence by the development of productive activities. Since Emprende joined the Foundation, it has brought together the objectives of its predecessor, The Cooperativa de Servicios Liberación, and the Foundation, in order to create opportunities aim at independent workers.
