“After The Rain” wins “Best Documentary Film” at the Pila Audiovisual Festival

The inspiring stories of the three Colombian entrepreneurs featured in this documentary have convinced the jury in the Pila Audiovisual Festival (FAP) in Argentina. The awarding ceremony took place on the 20th of August which also marked the closing of its 2nd edition.

National and international short films have competed to win “Best Short Film” under Documentary, Fiction, Music Video and Animation categories. “After The Rain”, directed by Ofelia de Pablo and Javier Zurita (Hakawatifilm), for BBVA Microfinance Foundation was handed the “Best Documentary Film” award.

About the Pila Audiovisual Festival (FAP)

The FAP was created in 2022, to gather film professionals and to encourage building networks by driving exhibits, production and shared reflections on the audiovisual sector in Argentina. Its 2nd edition took place between the 17th and the 20th of August in the city of Pila, at the heart of  Buenos Aires Province.

For four days, hundreds of people filled the movie theaters to attend the showing of the nomintaed films.

Other awards

This summer, FAP’s recognition is the second one awarded to “After The Rain”. Last month, it received “Best CSR Video” award at the Premios OCARE for being “a clear reflection of communication trends worldwide”

Also, the documentary has also been nominated in two other national and international film festivals this year.

“After The Rain” tells the story of three families of entrepreneurs served by the BBVAMF, narrated from their daughters’ POV.

More than 70 thousand people have already seen the short film launched on December 2022 during the Foundation’s 15th Anniversary celebration in Madrid.
