“After The Rain” documentary nominated in national and international film festivals

BBVAMF’s documentary shown on screens all over the world

Thousands of viewers from different countries now know about Blanca, Belkys, Luis Antonio, Alejandra, Olga and Kelly, the protagonists of “After The Rain”. Their stories tell that of the millions of people who cope with violence, poverty and inequality in Latin America.

Shot in Colombia, the short film addresses human nature and how, through hard work, trials can be overcome. The way it shares their stories has stood out among others, making it shortlisted in “Rurales”, a local film festival with rural and environmental focus, as well as in international competitions such as FIFAK and PILA, where it has been nominated as “Best short film”. 

“After The Rain” was launched on December 2022 during the BBVA Microfinance Foundation’s 15th Anniversary celebration in Madrid and it has currently more than 70,000 views on YouTube.

Directed by Ofelia de Pablo and Javier Zurita from Hakawatifilm, it has been awarded “Best CSR Video” during the 2023 OCARE Awards, given by Medialuna Communications.
