Microserfin in the Panamanian context
The measures taken by the Panamanian government to fight against poverty still need time to succeed in the current population. Here we have some examples: (i) The program Red de Oportunidades, which offers conditional cash transfers to thenperson in charge of the family, (ii) the widespread access to education, and (iii) the increase in welfare spending.
In this framework Microserfin has an important commitment due to the national context where it carries out its activities. Thanks to productive finances, those disadvantaged people suffering inequality and lack of opportunities, have the chance to take part in the country’s economic growth, and at the same time, they enjoy a better quality of life.
