Banco ADOPEM promotes the care of the ecosystem with the “Rural Finance and Environment” program

Banco ADOPEM has presented the “Rural Finance and Environment” (FRA) program, aimed at encouraging the bank’s entrepreneurs to implement activities and business with a low environmental impact and which are environmentally friendly.

The FRA program is part of Banco ADOPEM’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility Policies. It includes financial programs and products such as Agrocrédito, AgroPyME, Ecocrédito, Agromujer ADOPEM, Crédito Macadamia and the Financial Literacy Training Program for the Rural Population.

These “green finance” initiatives include the project “Promoting Green Credits as a Strategy for Financial Inclusion in Rural Areas of the Dominican Republic” which promotes access to credit for entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. The aim is to improve the environmental quality results in the production processes by reducing the use of agrochemicals water conservation, waste management and decreasing pollution sources, among others.

The bank is undertaking this project together with its strategic partners REDCAMIF, REDOMIF and with the financing of Appui au Développement Autonome (ADA). It is carried out in the provinces of San Juan, Azua, La Vega and Hermanas Mirabal.

Banco ADOPEM is thus cooperating with the sustainable and competitive development of the Dominican countryside, with innovative financial and technology services to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, while respecting the environment.
