Francisco González will meet clients of Bancamía, BBVA Microfinance Foundation’s MFI in Colombia, and will learn about some of the projects being supported by the Foundation in Soacha, in the outskirts of Bogotá, and one of the most marginalized municipalities in the region. This population, with over half a million inhabitants, is also one of the places that have taken in the largest number of displaced persons from the armed conflict in Colombia. For this reason, it has become a priority action zone for the United Nations and the World Bank.
After a working meeting at Bancamía’s head office, the President of BBVA will visit some small enterprises: a nursery school, a mini-mart and some premises where a group of women gather together to weave woolen garments.
