The BBVA Microfinance Foundation, the Permanent Missions of Spain and Colombia to the United Nations, together with UN Women host a special session entitled “Sustainable Development Goals and the role of financial inclusion: Women & Innovation”. The event will be held in the ECOSOC Chamber at the UN Headquarters. Discussion will revolve around financial inclusion challenges to reduce poverty and accomplish the SDG, with a special focus on women and innovation.

The session participants will include high-profile speakers such as representatives from the Spanish and Colombian delegation, the BBVAMF, Microsoft Philanthropies and the Inter-American Development Bank. The session’s highlight will be Jessica Hernández, a BBVAMF female entrepreneur from Colombia and her interview to be conducted by Ambassador María Emma Mejía Vélez, the Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations.
