Microserfin, second placer in Panama’s Premio Nacional de Emprendimiento (National Enterprising Awards)

Acknowledged for its work as the ‘Driving Institution of the enterprising eco-system in Panama’, Microserfin received the second prize in the Premio Nacional de Emprendimiento (National Enterprise Award). This category showcases the efforts made by institutions to encourage entrepreneurial and innovative activity, create jobs and drive productivity and competitiveness in the supply chain.

This has been the first edition of the awards supported by the AMPYME (Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprise Authority), as part of the events that took place during the 2018 Global Enterprise Week.

BBVA Microfinance Foundation’s Panamanian institution has designed a strategy based on Productive Finance, the Foundation’s proprietary methodology. Entrepreneurs living in vulnerability are placed at the heart of all its activity, providing them with a comprehensive offering of sustainable financial products and services. Microserfin is aware that financial inclusion plays an important role in reducing poverty. This is what motivates the institution to support individual initiative and entrepreneurship in Panama’s most vulnerable sectors.
