Gamification was one of the key topics in this year’s edition of ‘Corporate Learning’, a conference organized by Equipos&Talento that brings together over 500 people every year. Before more than a hundred members of the audience, BBVA Microfinance Foundation narrated how it uses an innovative way to drive its employees’ talents using a game: ‘Simon’. “We created a virtual character that trains branch supervisors to manage high-performance teams committed to what we do: developing vulnerable entrepreneurs.” That is how Fabián Goldberg, head of BBVAMF’s Microfinance Campus & Culture, described the initiative, before going on to talk about ‘Héroes’. In his words, “a deeply engaging experience in the Foundation’s purpose.”

Aside from BBVAMF, other companies and institutions also presented their projects in this field. Pernod Ricard’s Learning & Development manager, Cristina Mazarrasa, described a virtual ‘agile coach’ case study, while the head of Ferrovial’s Internal Communication, Commitment & Diversity department, Silvia Lázaro, talked about the multinational firm’s experience with the game ‘She’, an interactive program that teaches participants to detect and overcome unconscious bias.
