The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) convenes sector experts during the Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD) Annual Meeting on the 3rd and 4th of March. BBVA Microfinance Foundation (BBVAMF) will be represented by Gabriela Gil, Finance manager and controller. Representatives from other foundation members and specialists in philanthropy will discuss the second edition of the OECD Survey on Private Philanthropy for Development and trends on foundations’ contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals during the past decade will also be analyzed. The OECD has recently presented its statistics on private philanthropy for development (gross disbursement 2017-2018).

Furthermore, the Global Forum on Environment will be taking place on the 5th and 6th of March. An event which will bring international experts together to share best practices and reflect upon the environmental aspect of sustainable development.  In this edition, focused on ‘Mainstreaming Gender and Empowering Women for Environmental Sustainability’, Concepción Blanco, head of Sustainable Finance in the BBVAMF, will participate in the panel ‘Biodiversity, agriculture, fisheries: changing economic opportunities for women and men’ (6th March). Sustainability is one of the strategic lines of the Foundation.
