The BBVAMF in the 62nd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62), at the United Nations Headquarters in New York

The BBVA Microfinance Foundation (BBVAMF) takes part in the 62nd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62), one of the most relevant global events on women’s empowerment. This year’s edition is focused on the challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and empowerment for rural women and girls.

Laura Fernández Lord, head of Women’s Economic Empowerment at the Foundation, is one of the participants in the official program.

She will also be a speaker in the WEPs in Action forum, organized by UN Women and TURKONFEED on 14th March, in the panel entitled ‘Implementation of WEPs at the Communities’.

The BBVAMF serves two million entrepreneurs, in which 6 out of 10 are women. Since 2015, 78% of the Foundation’s clients who abandoned poverty are women.
