BBVAMF and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) meet in Madrid to discuss about rural development in America

The BBVA Microfinance Foundation welcomed the Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Manuel Otero, in its Madrid HQ to discuss the problems and challenges facing the sector in Latin America, and to work together on the farming development programs that both institutions are running, particularly those targeting rural women.

Manuel Otero spoke about the IICA, which operates in 34 Latin American countries in collaboration with their ministers for Agriculture and other strategic partners such as the IDB, EU and AECID. He sees how Spain’s cooperation and development aid agency “is opening its doors to the Foundation, so we can work together on economic growth and sustainable development for rural areas, to contribute to the progress and welfare of its people.”
