The BBVA Microfinance Foundation (BBVAMF) celebrates 15 years supporting millions of people in 5 Latin American countries to improve their lives, and whose voices will be magnified in an event to be held in honor of this milestone.

H.M. the Queen, like in 2017, presides over the celebratory events of this anniversary, supporting the work of the BBVAMF and its microfinance institutions (MFIs).

The event, which will take place on Tuesday, 20th of December, will focus on the challenges that we face: the rising inequality and the gender, digital, social and economic gaps. These are challenges that allow us to put all that we have learned from entrepreneurs into action. Their vulnerable conditions have not stopped them from being an example and an inspiration for all, as is shown in the documentary that premieres that evening, “After the Rain.”

It tells the story of three families, narrated through the eyes of their children. A story of how effort, tenacity and eagerness have equipped them to reinvent their destinies, changing their lives and that of their families.
