Bancamía
  • With the opening of new branches, more banking correspondents and the launch of the Mobile Banking channel, the company aims to increasingly bring the financial system to low-income Colombian entrepreneurs.
  • Its main objective in 2015 is to deliver a comprehensive value proposition that promotes the productive development of the inhabitants of rural areas excluded from the system.
  • Today Bancamía is present in 76% of municipalities in Colombia, with 187 branches spread throughout 29 of the 32 departments that make up the national territory.

With the firm intention to continue contributing to the productive development of Colombians who make up the base of the economic pyramid, in 2015 Bancamía will move closer to low-income entrepreneurs in different areas of the country, through growth of its service channels.

Bancamía plans to open 17 new branch offices in 10 departments, which will entail that it will have more than 200 branches throughout the country, expanding its coverage and service in dozens of municipalities that currently require attention from the formal financial system.

In addition, the Bank will launch the “Mobile Banking” channel, with special emphasis on the rural sector, but also including the urban sector, with the aim to optimize services provision, providing greater flexibility, security, access, ease and reducing users’ costs and user time on transfers. These initiatives will allow a greater number of people to access the organization’s products and services, by facilitating the use of products from any mobile phone.

Bancamía’s expansion process is complemented with increasing the number of banking correspondents, who will bring the bank nearer to its customers with closer service points, resulting in cost and time savings, especially in areas where travelling is complicated.

Bancamía ended 2014 by serving more than 698,000 customers, managing to increase the number of people served by 94,000, compared to 2013, and a portfolio that exceeds $1.1 trillion Colombian pesos, represented in disbursements of productive credits to entrepreneurs from the trade, services, production and agriculture sectors.

With the opening of six new branches and setting up over 1,850 banking correspondents points between their own and through Movilred, covering 575 towns, Bancamía ended 2014 reaching important achievements to strengthen its mission to improve the quality of life for low-income families through Responsible Productive Finance.

Currently Bancamía hands out 1,079 productive credits per day and 135 per working hour, which represents an opportunity to progress for the same number of families who through their business ventures, transform the reality of their communities and their country.
