It offers recommendations for guiding public policy and developing an appropriate legal framework for financial inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It identifies the following key challenges:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(i) Promoting access to the financial system<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(ii) Designing financial products and services adapted to users\u2019 needs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(iii) Introducing financial education programmes<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(iv) Strengthening consumer protection mechanisms and procedures<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(v) Promoting coordination across industries and between institutions<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(vi)Promoting the leadership role of the central bank <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banco de la Naci\u00f3n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in financial inclusion<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To this end, it recommends (i) improving infrastructures in order to increase geographic expansion and penetration, \u00a0(ii) developing and introducing alternative financial channels, such as mobile banking and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/progresomicrofinanzas.org\/en\/banking-correspondant-linkages-and-financial-inclusion-strategies-in-latin-america\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">banking correspondents,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (iii) teaching financial education in all areas of the country and from a young age, as a key factor for inclusion, (iv) strengthening consumer protection through better regulation and financial education; (v) that the central bank, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banco de la Naci\u00f3n,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> play a more active part in promoting financial inclusion, leveraging its geographic reach and long experience. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This document analyses the degree of financial inclusion existing in Peru and the main goals.
