\/><\/a><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The European Union has taken an important step in the governance of artificial intelligence (AI) with the publication of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/es\/policies\/contents-code-gpai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI (GPAI),<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a voluntary <\/span><b>tool that seeks to help the industry comply with the obligations of the AI Act, especially regarding the security, transparency, and copyright of general-purpose AI models.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this publication, <\/span><b>the European Union aims to foster an AI ecosystem that is innovative, safe, transparent, and respectful of rights, laying the groundwork for the responsible development and implementation of artificial intelligence.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>GPAI Structure and Content<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The code has three chapters:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/newsroom\/dae\/redirection\/document\/118120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Transparency:<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It includes an easy-to-use <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/newsroom\/dae\/redirection\/document\/118118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">documentation form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for providers to detail the necessary information to comply with the AI Act on model transparency.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/newsroom\/dae\/redirection\/document\/118115\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Copyright:<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It gives providers with practical solutions for complying with the AI Act and establishes a policy for adhering to EU copyright legislation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/newsroom\/dae\/redirection\/document\/118119\"><b>Safety and Protection:<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It contains new practices for managing systemic risks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>How to Adhere to the GPAI<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providers of general-purpose AI models interested in adhering to the code can do so by completing a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/newsroom\/dae\/redirection\/document\/118312\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">signature form<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and sending it via email to <\/span><a href=\"mailto:EU-AIOFFICE-CODE-SIGNATURES@ec.europa.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EU-AIOFFICE-CODE-SIGNATURES@ec.europa.eu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More information on the
