{"id":9385,"date":"2017-04-17T10:41:49","date_gmt":"2017-04-17T10:41:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/en\/microcreditos-cambian-vidas\/"},"modified":"2019-12-04T13:17:18","modified_gmt":"2019-12-04T12:17:18","slug":"microcreditos-cambian-vidas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/en\/microcreditos-cambian-vidas\/","title":{"rendered":"Microloans that change lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mar\u00eda Aurora M\u00fanera says that, at 52 years old, she has a lifestyle she could never even have imagined, because <strong>her business has finally enabled her to make her dreams come true. <\/strong>This entrepreneur, who was born in the municipality of Frontino (Antioqu\u00eda) and lives in Medell\u00edn, tells us how her life changed thanks to Bancam\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>25 years ago, after separating from her husband and leaving her job as a sous pastry chef in Medell\u00edn\u2019s Club Uni\u00f3n, <strong>Mar\u00eda Aurora decided she was going to be an independent business woman so that she could spend more time with her son, and become self-sufficient.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She started off selling cheese straws door to door, which earned her the nickname of \u201cMar\u00eda Straws\u201d in her neighborhood and in a large part of the city. Then <strong>she decided to sell her house and open a fast food restaurant,<\/strong> extending her business offering by selling more labor-intensive dishes and creating jobs for several people.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mar\u00eda Aurora\u00a0dreams of buying another house and setting up an ice cream business<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As of today this entrepreneur has taken out <strong>over 20 loans.<\/strong> \u00a0\u201c<strong>Not everything is about the money,<\/strong> it\u2019s not only about what you pay: I pay for quality and the enjoyment of seeing the faces of the manager and the officers who are always so kind and look after me so well\u201d, she says with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>Now she is setting herself new challenges; she dreams of buying another house and of setting up an ice cream business. She is convinced that the bank will carry on helping her as it always has.
