Javeriana University, with the support of Bancam<\/strong>\u00ed<\/strong>a, has created the Diploma of Microfinance Management, a training program designed to respond to the growing demand for experts in microfinance in Latin America, and particularly in Colombia. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Diploma in Microfinance Management will be given over the Internet and consist of 120 hours distributed over three months, in which professionals can study the microfinance system as a whole, the specific features of this market and its institutions, basic financial mathematical techniques, risks associated to the activity, qualitative and quantitative methods for assessing loans to micro- and small enterprises, in addition to administration of the portfolio, and various other subjects that will enable participants to develop the necessary skills to navigate this economic field.<\/p>\n

Bancam\u00eda -which according to figures from the Superintendencia Financiera (Financial Superintendency) recorded at the close of November 2013 the highest share of the micro-credit holding of all the private supervised institutions in the country- will be involved both in creating the contents and providing tutoring from the bank’s microfinance experts.<\/p>\n

The students who obtain the best academic scores will be given the opportunity to take part in Bancam\u00eda’s talent selection processes.<\/p>\n

The Diploma can be done from various parts of the country, as it does not require a classroom-based study. The registration period is already open to begin classes in the first weeks of March.<\/p>\n

The program is aimed at current students of Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law, Sociology, Political Science and Engineering with an interest and vocation for working in the microfinance sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
