Ana Revenga is a renowned Spanish economist, expert in development policies and poverty reduction<\/strong>, inclusive growth and equality, employment and gender equality, among other subjects. In her more than 25 years of experience in the World Bank<\/a>, she has fulfilled various technical and management positions for the Asia and the Pacific region, Europe, Central Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean. She is also a specialist in OECD countries<\/a>. She was also Deputy Chief Economist in the World Bank Group and Senior Director for the Global Poverty & Equity Practice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ana Revenga has been working in World Bank for more than 25 years<\/p><\/div>\n

Ms Revenga holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University. She graduated magna cum laude in economics and mathematics from Wellesley College, and has authored a number of publications, reports and articles on extreme poverty and equality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her profound knowledge on the economic landscape of Latin America and the Caribbean, where the BBVA Microfinance Foundation<\/a> develops its activities, together with her experience in leading different poverty analysis and development programs, shows the Foundation\u2019s commitment to ally with top talents to aid in its mission of fostering the economic and social development of vulnerable people.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ms Revenga is currently a Senior Researcher at the Brookings Institution and an assistant professor in Economics at Brown University. She also works in initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, specifically those related to gender equality (SDG 5) and poverty elimination (SDG 1). <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

With this new addition, the Foundation reinforces its strategy towards impact measurement<\/a> and women empowerment<\/a>, and at the same time attains gender parity in the formation of its maximum governing body.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
