{"id":9037,"date":"2017-04-28T11:24:07","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T11:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/en\/?page_id=9037"},"modified":"2023-01-17T10:26:10","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T09:26:10","slug":"sustainable-development-goals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/en\/sector-development\/sustainable-development-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable Development Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong> are an ambitious plan of action defining sustainable development priorities at a global level to 2030, with the aim of <strong>eradicating poverty and promoting decent lives with opportunities for all<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are <strong>17 goals and 169 universal targets<\/strong> that are inter-connected, applicable to all nations and peoples, and that represent a call to action for governments, civil society and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>These SDGs are included in <strong>the United Nations Agenda 2030<\/strong>, which recognizes the role of financial inclusion and microfinance in reducing poverty and in economic and social development. Access to financial services across society, and particularly for women, features in several of the nearly 170 targets.<\/p>\n<p>Since it was set up, <strong>BBVA Microfinance Foundation<\/strong>, with its mission of promoting economic and social development, has operated in alignment with these SDGs. In general terms, <strong>the Foundation\u2019s activity has an impact, to differing degrees, on 13 of the SDGs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-37201 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BBVAMF-contribution-to-the-SDG-2021.png\" alt=\"BBVAMF contribution to the SDG 2021\" width=\"1215\" height=\"599\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BBVAMF-contribution-to-the-SDG-2021.png 1215w, https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BBVAMF-contribution-to-the-SDG-2021-180x89.png 180w, https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BBVAMF-contribution-to-the-SDG-2021-1024x505.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.fundacionmicrofinanzasbbva.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/BBVAMF-contribution-to-the-SDG-2021-768x379.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1215px) 100vw, 1215px\" \/>\n<h3>BBVA Microfinance Foundation, considered by United Nations as an example of good\u00a0practice<\/h3>\n<p>Since April 2015, <strong>the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDGF)<\/strong> has honored BBVAMF for its contribution to SDGs, making it one of the <strong>13 founding member institutions around the world of its Private Sector Advisory Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This provides strategic support to the UN so that, in coordination with the private sector, better results can be achieved in sustainable development.
